What is The One “Thing”, The “Winning Edge” of Obtaining Clients?

The main focus and challenge of any business is increasing sales and for those businesses that want to earn as much money in a short period of time there is one thing that has to be present.

One thing above all else is to get you to the profits quicker than the average business owner. I mean average business owners get average results, don’t they?

It will separate you from the “average”, pulling you right out of the rat races of any market doesn’t matter what you are selling be it dog toys, IT software, or pizza.

That One Thing is “Knowing your Audience”

An old adage says you can't understand someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes.

Just imagine if the politicians had to spend two months a year running a small business… We just might get a lot of our problems solved.

No more slew of paperwork, Uncle Sam would only charge an arm, no leg.

The goal is understanding, to persuade someone, to motivate someone, to sell someone, you really need to understand that person.

When you fail to connect with your target customer they do the absolute worst thing possible

Which is nothing.

You Want to Make Sure You Do Everything You Can to Speak to Your Ideal Customer

Most marketing is not directed at any one person. Instead, it’s directed at everyone.

The marketing lacks a clear understanding of who they are trying to target.

You have to discriminate. It’s not a bad word, in fact, it’s your safe passage to your ideal customer.

It’s like choosing what neighborhood you are going to send your marketing message through.

When you focus on a specific who, you’re able to hone in on exactly what makes that person tick.

What keeps them up at night?

What are they angry about?

Who do they desire the most?

For Domino’s This Was Hungry College Kids With The Munchies

They understood their market perfectly! College students desperate for anything to satisfy their appetite.

Their message was “fresh hot pizza in thirty minutes or less, guaranteed.”

Incredible.

What makes it even more powerful is that they entered the conversation going on inside their customer’s head—which can be boiled down to “Me. Hungry. Now.”

Had they instead focused on “delicious sauce, mama’s old country recipe, ingredients sourced from the finest, all organic farms, delivered in style by an Italian Mob Boss...” it would have tanked.

Simply because that’s not what the market was looking for and it certainly didn’t match the dialogue taking place in that college kid’s mind as they are watching sports and scrolling on social media.

Failing to Do So Will Undermine All Your Efforts.

Just like you wouldn’t attempt to communicate with a Dutchman by Mongolian throat-singing.

They wouldn’t understand you no matter how good you can sing.

Notice Dominio’s never said their pizza was good.

Now get out there and deliver the right message to the right audience and start obtaining clients.

Talk soon,

Jake
